At Asito, the building supervisors are the essential link between the customers and the cleaning employees.
To help them better define the role, Asito developed the ‘Leerhuis voor Objectleiding’ (‘building supervision learning house’). Some of the courses are digital and some consist of physical meetings.
Asito building supervisors really are all-rounders. They are experts on cleaning techniques, have a leadership role, have to be able to communicate effectively with the customer and the cleaning employees, and have to be able to deal well with different cultures. Joost Brinkhuis, Manager for Development and Training, Knowledge and Quality, on the necessity for training, “Asito wants to stand out in the market. The role of our 250 building supervisors in that is crucial. We put a lot of care into and place a lot of emphasis on their training. They have to be able to combine it with their busy jobs. The Leerhuis fulfils that need. The building supervisors take the digital courses at the times that best suit them. There are now 28 courses on cleaning, learning to learn, representing, working safely, and other topics. The courses are practical and tailored to each individual’s needs.”
Mix of digital and physical
“Here at Asito, we attach great value to flexibility for the employees. And to learning. That is why we provide a good mix between the flexibility of digital learning and the personal contact in physical meetings. Moreover, it helps us improve learning outcomes. The digital courses include practical assignments, so that learning and working are interwoven in a natural way. We have been able to reduce the number of physical meetings. In the process, we have noticed that the nature of these meetings has changed. There is now much greater scope for more depth.”
